01st May 2011 - HID Headlights

Finally the modding started. After getting a fairly good deal on a HIDS4U.co.uk Bi-Xenon 6000k 35w HID Kit through ebay I decided to go ahead and fit them.

These pictures show the HIDs on one side and the standard lights on the other. There is a huge difference in both colour and brightness with the new set.

Having never fitted a set before I made sure to take my time. Luckily the set was very well designed and because they are 35w instead of 55w, they did not require any additional wiring running from the battery or other power source. I was able to successfully place the ballast boxes next to the front upper grill where they sit neatly and can be seen when the engine bay is opened.

I also hid all the other connectors and boxes within the headlight unit itself and cut a small section from the rubber disc on the back of the unit to allow the wires to pass through.
